Very memorable/ interesting stay in a lovely, quirky & nearly outstanding accommodation. Great host!

Pros: The high quality and well designed layout of all the rooms, furniture and appliances was exceptional. The availability of just about every utensil, domestic necessity and home comfort we could think of. The quirkiness of the interior, the quaintness and fascinating history of the accommodation setting. The convenient location for seeing the southern Dales and local National Trust properties. The availability, detailed knowledge and kind attentiveness of Jon, the host. The recently refurbished local pub/restaurant (The Hare and Hounds) is just a minute's walk away. - This was a memorable stay and would recommend it, as it is close to being an absolutely superb place to stay, for a night or a week.

Cons: Having stayed in a significant number of similar accommodations for short stays, this one is very good....exceptional in many ways, but could be improved to a superb/outstanding standard with just a few, minor touches/ improvements: 1) More effective heating (without resorting to the lovely log burner) during the colder months... as we were a bit cold in the evenings unless in the bedroom where the radiators were adequate. Also, the two toilets and shower that do not have the under-floor heating, were unpleasantly cold throughout our stay. Some form of safe, wall-mounted heater would make them usable. 2) We were unfortunate in that, during our stay, the only warm toilet (the 'en-suite' one in the bedroom), which would have been the comfortable one to use, was broken, awaiting parts! :-( Once fixed, this would be a very nice, hand convenience once again! 3) I am relived that we were not visiting during the 'lighter months', in terms of light coming in during sleeping hours! - As the ceiling windows are the historic, large original mill windows, mainly north-facing (but not all)... they let in more than enough light to make sleeping difficult unless wearing black-out eye masks! They would ideally be fitted with open-and-closable blinds that guests could operate...by remote control or by a hand-pulled cord.

Excellent staycation!

Pros: The property has everything you need for a break away and is located in a lovely village surrounded by beautiful countryside. Huge thank you to our host who was very welcoming, made sure we had everything we needed and took time out of his day to show us the old mill which was fantastic! We would recommend this property to anyone that asked, it's location is excellent for anyone that wanted to explore either the local area or even further out into the Dales and Pennines. Thank you for a lovely week!
