Pollard Cottage

Very cosy and warm with everything we needed for our stay.

Pros: Great village location, peaceful and quiet. Next door to a wonderful restaurant and bar.

Cons: We had a problem with the log burner, but our host was very responsive to our call for help.

Pros: Location was great. Very warm and comfortable. Well equipped. Fabulous pub next door serving great food. They also had a field available to walk the dog. Lovely quiet village and everyone was so friendly. The cottage was great for two of us and the dog. Secure back yard. Great idea leaving the key each day in the key safe so we didn’t have to worry about losing it! Bed was comfy and shower was adequate. Oven was good getting to temp quickly and cooked evenly. Home from home.

Most pleasant…we’ll be back!

Pros: Spotlessly clean, nicely arranged and decorated, pleasant surroundings! We made ourselves thoroughly at home very quickly, and that includes the dog! Particularly liked the numerous shelves, nooks & crannies which seemed very well thought out & convenient.

Cons: Provision of some kind of shade in the courtyard would be welcome- perhaps a parasol/umbrella? The rather sharp latch fitting on the bedroom door took us unawares until we learnt to avoid it!

Lovely village location next to amazing pub

Pros: Cosy cottage, lovely village location, nice enclosed garden ideal for our dog. It's great to have a TV in the bedroom. The pub next door is amazing with friendly staff. Comfy bed, but springs are squeaky each time you turn. Nice log burner, but on arrival, it still had ashes in from the previous guests.

Cons: Old-fashioned furniture in the living room, not as pictured on the site. No scissors or bread knives, which are staple kitchen utensils. Only 1 black bin bag provided. The shower is rubbish, with no water pressure, but it would not stop us returning to the property again.. The bathroom heated rail did not work, and the clock in the kitchen did not work. No hooks anywhere in the bathroom to hang towels or pyjamas.

Cottage converts

Pros: The location was great (next to a pub and restaurant), and the price was excellent value for money. This was our first time staying in a cottage and self-catering some meals. We look forward to doing it again in the future. Also, the owner was lovely!

Cons: The only thing we didn't like was the shower. It wasn't very powerful but it did a job. 😀
