Pros: Beautiful little cottage in a quiet village and a perfect location to explore locally and further afield. One of the most well equipped self-catering cottages we've stayed in, including salt, dishwasher tabs and foil - excellent! A1 is conveniently close but cannot be heard or seen, even at night. 3 good sized bedrooms which comfortably sleep 6 and plenty of space in each one for a cot if required. Access to parking is physically tight, however there's additional space opposite the house.

Cons: Duvet was a little thin for the time of year however we did stay during a period of extremely low temperatures. Similarly the only heat source in the kitchen is the oven, however the boot room was warm enough to dry clothes and the wood-fire was very well utilised in the sitting room. Boiler is oil-fed so understandably on a very strict timer! Always going to be tricky with outside temperatures as low as -5.

Comfortable, village cottage in great location.

Pros: Good facilities, especially having a warm utility room where our dogs slept. Spacious rooms. Well equipped kitchen. Great walks on quiet lanes. Close to Ripon which has a good selection of supermarkets and local food shops.

Cons: Odd that the property was not decorated for Christmas at all. The kitchen needs a hand whisk please.

Great property in a great location!

Pros: Beautiful house, much bigger than expected! The main bedroom was lovely and the beds were very comfortable. The property was very clean and had everything we required. Great location for getting out and about to the many local attractions.

Cons: The garden needed a little attention - it would be lovely to sit out there and watch the farm animals but it was too overgrown to see them. Although the property is pet friendly, if you have a small dog you will need to put something up at the bottom of the gate on the driveway as the gap was quite big. This wasn't an issue for us, but please be aware that the driveway is very tight! Finally, nothing to do with the actual property, but the local pub had changed management and was closed at the time we visited which was such a shame!

Perfect home from home for a wonderful break in the area, close enough and central to so many of the gems in the area, a

Pros: It was like a home from home. We loved all the quirks and little details that made it unique and very cottage core and comfy. It’s central to many of the different attractions across North Yorkshire, and was the perfect base for our wonderful wee family break.

Cons: I can’t think of anything. There were a few things that could benefit from a wee bit aesthetic update. But for us it only added to the charm making it feel more like a home than a clinical holiday accommodation. We have no complaints regarding the property.

Perfect Location

Pros: This was a perfect location for us visiting friends in the area. It was also very handy for the local pub less than 5 minutes away. Lovely rural location with easy access to Ripon and beyond.

Cons: Everything was as expected no faults to find.
