NEW Thirsk Stays - Herriot's Hideaway

Cosy, central, comfortable cottage - perfect for a holiday base to explore Thirsk

Pros: Charming and cosy end terrace cottage in an historical part of town, just a very short walk from the market square, restaurants, cafes, pub. Almost next door to lovely riverside walks. Good standard of accommodation and spacious ground floor accommodation with large separate kitchen, and through living and dining area. Wifi and streaming TV all worked well. Comfy bedrooms and large bathroom with separate bath and walk in shower. All in all great for a holiday in Thirsk. Helfpul and responsive host. Easy access with key box and clear instructions.

Cons: Not a problem for us, but the stairs are steep (with excellent and thoughtfully placed handrails) and the double bed in the main bedroom is quite low down. If you have restricted mobility, this may not suit your needs.

Great stay in Thirsk town.

Pros: Thirsk town is a stones throw from the property. Lovely riverside walk to the park. Hayley the host was perfect! Nothing was too much trouble especially as my booking was last minute. Easy access to the main roads which are all well sign posted.

Cons: My only thing would be the table had bits of food in the groves of the table top, a quick pick up with the vacuum and a wipe down would fix this.

Pros: Location was ideally situated for the market square and dog walks.

If we were to visit Thirsk again, we would attempt to book this property before looking at any other

Pros: Location was superb No problem parking both our cars in front of the property

Cons: The stairs were a bit daunting and took some getting used to The bed in the main bedroom was a little low and there was no wardrobe Please note these are only personal observations and did not detract from our experience

Pros: Lovely location and wonderful cottage. Hayley the host was very helpful and welcoming.
