My ideal squirrelly retreat

Pros: Supremely comfortable, has everything I needed in a well laid out cottage. It was easy and inviting to go out walking due to location, but equally good for staying in on rainy days. Close enough to town to be easy, far enough away for peace and quiet. Adrian was a very nice chap and incredibly accommodating. I loved Squirrel cottage and will be coming back.

Cons: Nowhere to hang a tea towel in the kitchen, yes, that's the only improvement I could think of! That and the neighbours partially blocked access to the parking space with bins whilst I was out, but that's no reflection on the wonderful cottage.

Pros: I really enjoyed my stay at Squirrel Cottage. It was clean, cosy, and fully equipped, with a good shower and a comfortable bed.

Cons: The location of the cottage is somewhat remote.

Fabulous and we shall be returning again

Fabulous stay at Squirrel Cottage

Pros: Location was great for walking from the cottage and for driving to places further away. Cottage was very clean and well maintained with excellent facilities.

Warm and comfortable

Pros: Warm, clean and comfortable in a cute village, very quiet and easy to get to where we wanted to be. Good wifi, comfy bed, nice shower with hot water and reasonably well stocked kitchen. Parking on site.

Perfect apart from the bedding!

Pros: The cottage was amazing. As soon as we walked through the door it just felt so cozy and welcoming. The owner had put on the heating for us which was a lovely touch. We fell in love with the cottage immediately and knew we had made the right choice. There were so many thoughtful things done by the owner, for example, sachets of milk in the fridge and tea and coffee in the canisters. We had taken our own, but a lovely thought for those who dont. Also there were some chocolates! Lovely. It was all so lovely, very peaceful too, just what we needed.

Cons: I really loved this cottage and wanted to give 10 out of 10, I wanted to call it perfect, but, sadly I couldn't do this. It is a shame but it is something that is very easily put right. When we went to bed we found that the mattress was very springy, fine for one person but when two were in bed the slightest movement by one was felt by the other. We coped with this but for us the worst problem was the bedding itself. The bottom sheet was 'scratchy' and the duvet cover was clearly old and had been washed many times. It was very pretty but covered in lots of small bobbly bits which were uncomfortable against the skin when lying in bed. The bedding needs to be upgraded to a cotton type, not less than 400 thread count. This type of bedding is a good investment and washes well and lasts for a long time. This is what I use at home and have encountered in other holiday rentals too.
