Lovely cottage in an ideal location for exploring York(shire)

Pros: Beautifully presented property with everything that you could want or need included. Everything was clean and β€œnew” and kept beautifully. Really nicely done!

Cons: This is splitting hairs - but the mattress on the bed is horrible ! It is a double bed (we are used to bigger) and the mattress is terribly uncomfortable which made for bad sleep and aches and pains and grumpy people ! If the mattress was better this would have been a 10/10 rating !!

Pros: What a beautiful cottage, perfectly situated between villages, not far from York Central, we loved our stay here for my partner's birthday, and we would definitely go back again, and highly recommend to anyone

The cottage was squeeky clean and super modern in a beautiful setting.

Pros: Everything! Modern, clean, beautiful area, lovely hosts, quiet and everything we might need was available in the cottage. Perfect for day trips to York (park ride only 8 mins drive away!), Harrogate, The Dales and beyond….

Cons: Having to leave it!

Beautiful base for exploring and relaxing

Pros: Decca Cottage is set in a very peaceful location ( you will need a car ) and so peaceful you can’t help but relax. Debbie was very welcoming along with Betty & Fred, two beautiful dogs and you also get to see Bob Debbie’s horse. The cottage is immaculately presented, with everything you could need, a welcome basket and lots of useful information. The kitchen is lovely and everything is so clean. The en-suite bathroom is a good size with a nice shower, plenty of storage in the bedroom & a comfortable bed. Really well located as a base to explore the area with park & ride into York not far.

Cons: Having to leave it ☹️

A little gem.

Pros: Cottage was exceptional and was like a home from home with everything you would need. It was lovely to be able to sit outside to enjoy the weather when we got back from our day out. Being able to park directly outside the front door to unload/load the car was a bonus and to have Netflix to unwind at the end of the day was the perfect combination The cottage was in a lovely peaceful location, yet within easy access of many historic houses, gardens and national trust properties. We would recommend joining Historic Houses Association as there were many fantastic properties and gardens within 45 minutes (Newby Hall was our particular favourite). The park and ride carpark was within 5 minutes for visiting the beautiful city of York. We would recommend you use Rawcliffe Bar P&R as the bus runs here to 10.30 pm (Poppleton P&R only runs to 6.30pm!). We were also able to visit Castle Howard very easily which we have always wanted to do.

Cons: It was exceptionally hot weather for the time of year (June) so a tower fan in the bedroom would have been useful as we were restricted to opening windows due to hayfever. The option to convert to twin beds due to the heat would have improved our comfort. A useful tip is to get your groceries from the Tesco Superstore as we went ended up going to more than one local shop.

Lovely property in quiet spot with great hosts

Pros: Hosts Deb and Kevin were very nice and approachable, very happy to assist in any way -- we had a friend visit and they offered us an extra dining chair and other amenities if we needed them. They also helped with dining and touring tips. The property was very well appointed with an excellent kitchen, comfy lounge area and bathroom, with fields around and in a quiet area. It was only a short drive to a Park & Ride into York city, which was very handy.

Cons: The bed was rather small and uncomfortable for the two of us.
