Clean, comfortable and convenient, a real peaceful find.
Pros: Booking in was a breeze and we were in our room within minutes. Very spacious room with a bed, chair, desk, TV etc. The shower was huge with plenty of towels though a few small tablets of soap would have been appreciated for the wash handbasin. Water temperature was very hot and the pressure was good, despite us being on the top floor. Heating was more than adequate. Breakfast, continental style, was plentiful, with a good range of cereals, yogurt, fruit juices, paid de raisin etc. It was a bit of a trek down to town and hard trek up the hill back to the monastery. There was a warm, cosy, traditional pub, the Airedale Heifer, about ten minutes walk down the hill, but unfortunately wasn't serving food at the time of our visit. Don't expect Wetherspoon prices. Don't miss a visit to the church and a walk around the grounds.
Cons: The boiling water tap in the breakfast room wasn't working. Had to boil a kettle to make tea - the coffee was great though!

Something a bit different
Pros: The warmth of the welcome The explanation of how the Monastery worked and how to fit in / respect those ways while staying The sense of peace and stillness I will hope to return to enjoy the beautiful gardens
Cons: I could hear the guest in the next room but they were only there briefly, fortunately

Pros: Helpful staff, excellent location, warm and comfortable, easily accessible.
Cons: My expectation of the inclusive breakfast was a cooked one. Apart from that detail, everything else was better, or at least equal to my expectations.

Very humbled by the simplicity of this B&B. Would definitely recommend to fellow Solo traveller's
Pros: The fact it was a working Monestry (for some reason I was under the impression it was converted to solely B&B) Continental Breakfast with the usual choices and a egg boiler/poacher. Egg on toast was lush. The staff were brilliant and said I could walk around the gardens. The whole experience of the B&B was enlightening.
Cons: Nothing not to like for me.

A unique B&B experience
Pros: A very different B&B experience as this is a working religious community. Very peaceful stay
Cons: Not applicable - everything was great

A fantastic hidden spot
Pros: I don't actually live very far away, but I came across the monastery on Google maps a few days before my dad's funeral. I decided to spend the night before the service here, rather than getting stressed at home and then getting stressed driving to my mum's house (also not far away). It was a very very good decision. The tranquility. The grounds. The fantastic taste of a windfall apple from the orchard. The beautiful church. I will definitely be going again when I feel the need of a mini retreat from the stresses of modern life. Tea and coffee are available in the rooms and the breakfast kitchen is open all day with a fridge, microwave, electric egg boiler and toaster. Along with bread, eggs, milk etc.
Cons: These are suggestions rather than complaints. I would have liked a larger bath towel. The one provided was rather small which I didn't discover until I got out of the shower. There was a choice of cereal available in the breakfast kitchen. Perhaps these could be more clearer labeled. I chose muselli only to discover that it was the added sugar version. When I arrived I was shown how to use the boiling water tap, but by the time I came to use it, I couldn't remember and struggled with it. If there were any printed instructions for it I couldn't find them. I only stayed one night so these didn't spoil my enjoyment but I might have found it more so if I'd stayed longer.

Would have stayed longer if did not have to get home for work
Pros: The breakfast was basic but very good. It was so calm & peaceful staying there, We did talk to Brother Jude a couple of times who was lovely. We went to mass at 8am on Sunday & took holy communion. Will definitely stay there again
Cons: Nothing. It was idyllic.
