1 Pines Farm Cottages

Pros: Large spacious cottage, couldn't believe how big the cottage was... a bit like the tardis. Good location, we hopped on the train a couple of times into York and Doncaster. Also visited a few local towns and villages.

Cons: Water pressure...or lack of it. Excellent shower, poor flow at sinks. Also needed bottles of water for drinking... We're from Scotland and couldn't drink the tap water at all.

1 Pines Cottage

Pros: Spacious cottage in quiet location with well equipped kitchen including washing machine. Handy location for York (recommend park and drive options to avoid parking problems in York)

Cons: 1k rocky drive along basic farm track to cottage. Drinking water very salty even in tea. Would recommend bringing bottled water

Good value for money and a great base for visiting events and attractions in Yorkshire.

Pros: The cottage was perfect for our needs, a little bigger inside than expected with good facilities and a small garden at the back. It is located on a farm at the end of a mile long gravel track lane. A car is required because the location is not near any shops, cafes or other facilities, but very peaceful.

Cons: The tap water had a strange taste, but was drinkable. One has to appreciate this is a working farm with an off-grid feel, but actually all the utilities and facilities you would expect at home.

Spot on for what we wanted.

Pros: Great location to get away from daily hassles but close to everything needed. Property was excellent - nice rooms and particularly lounge/kitchen area. Everything you'd need was provided.

Brilliant, we would stay here again.

Pros: The host was fantastic and the cottage was in a lovely setting and lovely and peaceful.

Cons: It was quite a long bumpy track off the main road to get to the cottage but it was only a minor issue. You need a car to get around.

Enjoyed the country setting

Pros: Setting and location was lovely. Easy drive to train station to get into York.

Cons: No issues - we found it a bit cool but owner was onsite and responded to our request to up the heating.

Pine Farm cottage

Pros: The accommodation was spacious, clean and comfortable. We felt relaxed in it.

Cons: The water flow was poor and there was no hot water on the 2nd day and the shower was luke warm on the first day.

Pros: Comfortable, quiet and spacious. Good temperature.

Cons: Mattresses felt elderly. Strong tap water taste (though this is not the fault of the owner).
