Tanyard Cottage - Whixley

Amazing - would definitely visit again.

Pros: The property was great. Very clean and lovely smelling. It had everything in that you need. There was even some treats left for the children which they loved. Lovely view in the morning. Would definitely recommend it to anyone that doesn’t want to be in the city centre or fancy’s a short drive.

Perfect stay

Pros: A wonderful stay at Tanyard Cottage. Michelle is a very friendly host and has thought of everything you need for a comfortable stay. Perfectly located for a visit to York. Would highly recommend and would definitely come back if we are visiting the area again

Pros: Fabulous location, Michelle was great and couldn’t do enough to help us. The cottage was beautifully decorated for Christmas and Michelle left mince pies, cereals etc for our stay. We had a lovely Christmas there.

Cons: There wasn’t anything we didn’t like!

Lovely Christmas weekend away

Pros: Lovely quiet location. Near to York for the Christmas market and shopping.

Nice spot near York - would be great in the summer

Cons: underfloor heating with little instructions how to work it meant it was a little cold - granted there is a wood log burner that could have been lit but they tend to be difficult to get a balance of hot / cold on

Fabulous stay - a beautiful, cosy cottage in a perfect location

Pros: Immaculate - lovely cosy cottage, very clean, beautifully decorated and kitted out, great location in between York & Harrogate. Great communication from Michelle. Perfect stay for us - we’ll definitely be back.

Pros: Beautiful location in a small and very quiet village, but with very easy access to York. The cottage is very comfortable and tastefully arranged with everything you might need. Lots of lovely touches such as fresh milk in the fridge and a choice of breakfast cereals. Michelle was very welcoming and gave us good tips on visiting York. She provided nice clear instructions for finding the cottage.

We loved our stay and would love to stay here again.

Pros: The cottage was beautiful, in a lovely village with a lovely view. The host was very friendly and helpful. There was milk, cereals, coffee, biscuits and pain au chocolat in the cottage for us.

Pros: Fantastic location and beautifully presented cottage, our hostess was a truly lovely lady, and hopefully, we'll get to stay there again in the future!

Perfect Stay

Pros: The cottage was perfect. No issues getting there, easy to find, and directions sent from the host were perfect. The cottage was exceptionally clean, well thought out spaces. The kitchen was well equipped, and the host provided tea, coffee, milk, and even cereals and breakfast items!! The host was welcoming and friendly, the communication was great, I could not fault and thing.
