Grade 2 listed School Cottage in York.

Lovely quaint cottage

Pros: The house was lovely and quaint. The location was good and was easy enough to get taxi's into York. The place is much bigger than the pictures look and was very well kept. The cottage was cosy and warm.

Cons: I found the instructions quite unclear on where to find the keys and the parking situation. The entrance is only through the back door. It may be useful to have some pictures and also a location pin point as it doesn't come up on satnav using the address. It would be nice to have had some soap/shampoo in the showers.

Enjoyable stay.

Pros: Lots of character to building. Good location for York and it's surroundings. Reasonable facilities for a holiday let.

Cons: A19 was quite intrusive, earplugs recommended for light sleepers. As expected with an old building, some damp smells downstairs. Might be an issue for those sensitive to them! Some issues around hot water (sometimes too hot!) and water pressure.

Pros: Lovely village, the cottage was peaceful, clean and cosy. Well equipped, we didn't want for anything

Pros: Spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, exceptionally equipped. A delight to stay in.

Cons: Whilst parking for a small car is suggested, with a little work you can park larger vehicle.

Great home from home

Pros: School cottage was lovely, clean, and homely . It's well taken care of, and it really added to our experience.

Cons: No water pressure in kitchen taps so washing up took forever 😂 but didn't bother us too much as you have to expect that with it being an older property. Taps/shower upstairs has good pressure though.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, in this comfortable home. Well worth another visit.

Pros: Very cosy, with lots of character. Easy travel to nearby locations to browse shops, cafes, and attractions. Responsive heating system, much needed in the winter months.

Cons: A couple of things were quite unsafe to use, such as the door knob on one of the bedroom doors, and the bolt on the front door, which was very stiff. I appreciate the property is a listed building, however the inside of the windows are very dirty and mouldy.

Pros: Lovely old cottage in a quiet village location, an excellent starting point for our trips to Central York. Village pub opposite the property, which was also excellent, lovely food and really friendly staff. Despite the weather we had a great long weekend away

Pros: Beautifully furnished and super clean, queries were answered promptly by the owner. Location was perfect. Being less than 10 minutes from park and ride into York, pub opposite with friendly, helpful staff. Close to national park and other interesting places.
