Pros: Small cottage in quiet dead-end street. Owners are very friendly and will probably pop by to say hi. Kitchen has everything you need utensil-wise. Onsite parking. Has a few quirks like 2 sofas for a 2 person property, and a washing line but no washing machine... (launderette is 30min walk and they are lovely)

Cons: As mentioned before, the wifi is terrible. It didn't bother me because I have unlimited data and phone signal is good, but the tv needs Internet for the streaming services. Otherwise it's just domestic tv channels. You can mirror your phone to the tv though. Some fluff and cobwebs around the ceilings and fittings but it is a converted barn out in the sticks so that happens. Radiators are on a timer and go off at night. One plug in radiator to keep the bedroom warm. If you're up early, the rest of the building is gonna be chilly until the sun hits it and then it's toasty. No kitchen space for food. Every cupboard has something in it. Would still stay again though because for the price, a kitchen and a decent sleep is worth it.

Super one week stay

Pros: Location was on a cul de sac in a quiet village only 4 miles from York city. The Knapton Lion pub was only a couple of hundred yards away from the cottage and shops were available in Acomb.

Cons: Internet access wasn't good but it wasn't an issue. We had 4G when the signal was poor.
