Maypole Inn

Don’t drive past, go and stay

Pros: Thank you for the lovely warm and quiet room at the rear of the pub. Pen-y-Ghent Room. Good breakfast too. I look forward to returning for a few more nights.

Lovely cosy stay. Wish I could have stayed longer!

Pros: Lovely cosy double room to rear of property with countryside views. Plenty of drink making facilities and 2 packets of biscuits! Shampoo and soap provided. Hairdryer. Large walk in shower with heated towel rail. Dressing table and chair. Beamed ceiling. The best thing in the room was the bed! I could have stayed in it all morning it was that comfy! Lots of choice for breakfast in the morning and friendly smiley staff 🙂. Enjoyed my stay.

Cons: Didn't see my message I sent via booking.com to let them know I wasn't arriving until evening so they thought I weren't coming. Internet was intermittent in the bedroom but that is probably just the area in general as opposed to the property.

Comfortable room with very helpful staff and great food

Pros: Comfortable room, great foods and very well placed for our overnight stay.

Great stopover for visiting relations, will stay longer nexttime

Pros: Good old fashioned pub with lots of history. Great menu and very generous portions of good Yorkshire food

Comfortable stay, great location for walks

Pros: Lovely spacious comfortable room at the back of the hotel. Great breakfast. Food served all day in the pub too. Very nice powerful shower.

Cons: The room was a bit cold in the evening, but not really a problem.

Great location with plenty of parking and good food.

Pros: Although breakfast is choice of what you'd like from a full English only plus cereals etc, it was excellent. The evening menu was a bit limited but again generous in portion and really good. Bar was pretty lively too with good choice of drinks. Plenty of tea, coffee and snacks provided in the room.

Cons: I had to bleed the radiator in the room to get the heating to work, but after that it was toasty. There was some thick dust on the skirting boards but room was clean otherwise. Hot water was very low in pressure but was hot. The safety light in the room was broken and taped up with black tape. There was a cupboard in my bathroom that had a very noisy pump that kicked in a few times which was a shock but it didn't happen during the night thankfully, would have nice to have been told about that but not really a problem in the end.

Most enjoyable stay for us.

Pros: Very friendly staff. We eat there for 4 nights and enjoyed the food every time.

A great relaxing stay will definitely use again

Pros: A lovely old pub very clean and the room was massive plenty of space to sit rather than have to sit on the bed and meal in the evening was good and breakfast was fantastic

Comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Pros: An excellent breakfast in a well -appointed room. Couldn't fault the room itself- comfortable with excellent facilities.

Cons: The flooring to the rooms was uneven- like walking on a ship.

Pros: The menu was very good and the staff were spot on a good selection of drinks to accomdate everyone's taste

Cons: The only slight negative is the steepness of the stairs to get to the bedrooms but nothing can be done the way the pub is built
