Would definitely return

Pros: Location was super easy to get to York Super restaurants close by Quality of the bathrooms and bedrooms were outstanding

Cons: Only negative was the train line close by but after a few hours didn’t hear them go by

Pros: The property was lovely, relaxing, had everything we needed provided and the owners even left us a little basket of essentials for our first night which we didn’t expect but very much appreciated. It was clean, comfortable, plenty of room for the six of us. If needing to travel near or around York would definitely stay here again and recommend.

Cons: Nothing it was perfect.

Lovely Annex

Pros: The Annex itself was very nice. The bedrooms were lovely and comfortable. We felt very welcome. Lots of great places to visit nearby. Dog friendly was a big plus for us. The trains nearby were not an issue and surprisingly even added to the character.

Cons: Perhaps a small thing but the road to the village (or anywhere else) was just too busy to safely walk for us especially with a dog (we tried). No pavements or footpath alternatives so it meant driving. May just have been the time of year as there were lots of tractors harvesting and heavy farm vehicles coming and going.

Fab location and only 20mins from York, and property is perfect for family get away. The host were great too- very quick

Pros: Plenty of space for a family of 4 and a dog. Facilities were great and had everything you needed. The Enclosed garden was a bonus for having a dog and loved that it was rural.

Cons: Location is next to a railway line but soon got used to it after a couple of days.

Lovely family stay

Pros: Friendly hosts, beautiful surroundings with a lovely horse to say hello to each day. Clean house with a nice welcome basket. All essentials were already there when we arrived.

Cons: A sign to direct you to the cottage may be helpful on arrival as, even with instructions, it was a little confusing.

Lovely accommodation, great location for York, friendly owner. Value for money. We would stay again.

Pros: Lovely annexe decorated and furnished lovely. Friendly communications with the owner. Good location for getting to York.

Cons: Few items missing that would have helped during our stay kitchen towel, dish cloth instead of sponge and a cleaning spray. Plenty of items in cleaning cupboard but not a spray cleaner. Item for consideration would be a door stop between the bathroom door and shower glass in downstairs bedroom. As brass door knob may eventually smash the glass.

Pros: Really lovely place love the baths, bed and very dog friendly. Easy parking and access.

Cons: We had a small dog who was able to fit under the gate, but no problems with our bigger dogs.

Beautiful place to stay

Pros: Beautiful location, well equipped. Fabulous garden. Really lovely house. We had a lovely Easter weekend.

Cons: It was not clear that the sofa bed was in the bedroom, and there was no toilet apart from the ensuite. This is a fabulous place to stay but not for 6 adults. Their website is very clear on the sleeping arrangements but booking. com was not, and if I had seen that earlier, I would have changed my booking.

Beautiful property with thoughtful touches

Pros: The property was really big, bedrooms were beautiful! So many details had been thought of, down to a scented candle by the bath. Directions to the parking area etc were really helpful, the welcome basket was a beautiful touch! The owners were really responsive to queries I had shortly after arrival. We did clearly hear the trains, but didn't actually disturb us. They become pretty much 'white noise' .

Cons: The upstairs bedroom is pretty warm so a fan may be useful.
