Walking in the yorshire dales

Pros: Loved the fact the walks are right on the door step ... shunner fell is fabulous if you like fell walking ..over 9 miles + & the next villiage muker has a lovely pub,a walk to keld from there with stunning views & waterfalls...

Calm base for lovely walks.

Pros: Great location. Very clean and tidy little property.

Cons: Parking was fine, safe and off road (just) but be aware that the space is tight to get into

A nice cosy spot at the top of the Dales to use as a base for exploring

Pros: We wanted to stay near the top of Swaledale, away from the towns down the valley, and Thwaite is an ideal spot for that. The cottage was cosy and had everything that the two of us needed. It was also quiet. Access was easy, using the keysafe. The owner sent us accurate details well before we arrived for how to get into the property. Everything worked. It's also been decorated and fitted-out in a pleasing style. Also, the Kearton Country Hotel in the village serves good meals and beers.

Cons: We had no issues with the property,

Good quality accommodation in a great loacation

Pros: The Property had all I needed for a few days of cycling in the Yorkshire Dales. Enough space, well equipped and close to a nice tea room.

Cons: There was nothing to dislike

Pros: The most comfortable and warm cottage I have ever stayed in. Everything we could have needed was provided. The parking, which was mentioned as a problem, was adequate for our Evoque.

Small and cosy.

Pros: The location was perfect. We have visited the Dales frequently, usually staying in the Askrigg area so knew what the village had to offer on the walking front. We had just done a week of walking in Northumbria and had chosen to stop off on the way back home for a couple of days in the Dales. The barn itself is not a large building but it was adequate for our needs. A relaxing stay and a place to wind down so long you don't build yourself up for a palatial palace with all mod cons.

Cons: The parking outside the barn is tight so opted to park further down the road, which we didn't mind. There is no place to sit out but after a days walking in the sun, and a few pints in Muker it was not a great loss this break. The Farmers in Muker is the nearest pub, but make sure to book at busy times as they are not fully staffed. Kearton Hotel wasn't open at night when we were there (up for sale). The barn is on the main road to Keld so there is traffic noise but how else do people get to Keld and beyond. No hair dryer and no welcome items.
