Akroyd House - The Wainhouse Room

Fabulous

Pros: Perfect location, right in the centre of Halifax, but extremely quiet and peaceful at night. The Wainhouse room is on the first floor and absolutely beautiful, extremely clean, comfortable and warm. The communal kitchen is also lovely and very clean and great if you want to cook for yourself. Check in/out was really easy, and we had no issue with parking- two spaces are to the side of the house. All in all a fabulous stay.

Pros: Spotlessly clean, comfy bed, very quiet, only a few minutes walk to the centre of halifax. We didn't realize at the time, but there was fresh milk for coffee in the fridge in the communal kitchen, which is a nice touch.

Would definitely return for future stays. Xx

Brilliant place and would return!

Pros: A lovely property that was close to town. This was a great space that allowed us to properly switch off. The kettle in the room is a good touch, to allow the privacy from others using the guest house and eliminates the immediate need to use the kitchen. I appreciated the slippers, with the suitable hint to take your shoes off, keeping the beautiful carpet in great condition.

Cons: Obviously the facilities are a shared space, it may be nice somehow know if the other rooms are occupied during your stay, to allow you to plan using the kitchen/going out for food but this wasn’t an issue for our 2 night stay.

Clean, stylish, space in centre of Halifax

Pros: Great location of piece hall gigs, parking a bonus, nice and central for Halifax. Lovely room with aircon that worked well, high quality finish throughout, no complaints and would 100% use again when next in area

Cons: Only minor point to note is the photos made it look like the small kitchen & lounge area came with the room (as a private space) when it’s actually shared across the four rooms in the building. Just meant we changed out breakfast plans a bit, nothing major but to note if planning on cooking there.

Pros: What a beautiful room it’s been well thought out. Comfortable bed. Tea and coffee facilities. The bathroom also caters for your every need. Great mirror for the ladies. Exceptional clean. The whole feel once you enter Akroyd house is stunning it also felt very safe. The owner was also very helpful as had to phone over parking. Central to everything. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Cons: There is only one thing I could say that would have made it perfect was to have an iron in the room. Other than that it was perfect 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Very comfortable and recently renovated to a lovely standard.

Pros: Clearly consideration and time put into this property and room. Beautifully decorated clean and a feel of luxury.

Cons: Could have done with some hooks in the bathroom for towels - didn’t want to leave on floor or in shower so had to hang my towel on the back of the door to the room.
