Great countryside pub stay excellent

Pros: They let us check-in early which was great, gave us all the info and left us to it, comfy warm clean room with all essentials very quiet, Top breakfast in the pub friendly staff deffo stay here again

Lovely little place in a lovely location.

Pros: Lovely little pub with a good atmosphere. Our room was very spacious with a decent view. Beds are very comfortable and very soft pillows.

Cons: If wanting an early night you may struggle due to the noise from the bar.(Didn't bother us though). Cups for your tea/coffee in room are very small.

Pros: Lovely place, sorry the lady I was with left weird comments in guest book

Cons: Bed was 2 singles, bit uncomfortable and it was dirty under bed, however still sorry she left comments about it in book

Excellent place for gluten free breakfasts.

Pros: The breakfast was hot, freshly cooked and they catered for gluten free too! It was excellent and hearty. The staff were superb too. So helpful and friendly.

Cons: There was no residents lounge to sit in comfort away from other diners having meals. Also, there was no comfortable seating. The one comfortable sofa disappeared on Sunday for some reason and we had to sit on uncomfortable chairs for hours on end. It did appear again weirdly, on Sunday evening?

Amazing place in a lovely location!

Pros: Fabulous one night stay on my way to Wales, spacious room, cosy and warm with a lovely view and great en suite with loads of hot water. Evening meal in the bar was amazing, the chips must be up there with the best I’ve ever tried! And the Stilton sauce was superb, unlike some this is very stiltony (!) couldn’t fault the meal. I’d requested breakfast before I headed off and I am so happy I did - again this was really good, great quality produce and cooked to perfection and came with a huge pot of tea! I would highly recommend anyone looking for accommodation or food in the area to give them a visit - I found my stay faultless and I will dream about the food for a long time! I definitely need to return to try their steak & Stilton pie 😍 Thanks everyone for an amazing stay
