Lendal Tower

Pros: The history of the tower is fascinating and it had been developed into a comfortable holiday home in a way which really made the most of it. Also the location is perfect.

Cons: It would have been nice to have some blankets downstairs for watching TV, but that didn’t detract from our enjoyment.

Magic in York

Pros: The most magical place to stay in York, and the only place to stay at New Year. The Minster is visible from the roof terrace, along with citywide panoramic firework displays at midnight. Truly magical. It’s warm and cosy and the historical character features are insane, all whilst still providing all modern facilities and excellent WiFi.

Pros: History associated with the building was impressive, the location was superb. Secure parking was reassuring.

Cons: The WiFi kept buffering. An actual fire or wood burner would have been a nice additional focal point, especially in the cold winter months. The top room should have an actual ensuite room rather than the facilities behind a partition.

Pros: It was like staying in a piece of history with excellent facilities and a wonderful view and location.

Cons: The stairs were so creaky they woke up everyone when we walked on them. The bathroom was a long way from the bedroom that was set up for the kids and they were too nervous to go on their own.

Great place to stay with friends for an unforgettable experience

Pros: Fantastic and unusual accommodation. Well equipped kitchen with fantastic roof terrace and private garden. Very comfortable beds.

Cons: An extra armchair downstairs in the living room rather than in the bedrooms. There isn't enough space for 6 adults to sit comfortably in the living room. Bedroom doors slamming shut.

Would book again

Pros: The property was even more beautiful than the photos. Prime location and everything was very clean. We appreciated we could access the property a little earlier than check in

Cons: The stairs are exceptionally creaky, however that is to be expected with the wooden spiral stairs

Absolutely fantastic property and location

Pros: Everything from the minute we arrived was fabulous we booked as a family as we where attending a family wedding and location to venue was minutes room where huge and Everything we could have needed was already provided roof top terrace and enclosed back garden where also fantastic and very well used by us with the weather we had added bonus with us being from Scotland

Quirky, luxurious accommodation in the centre of York

Pros: We appreciated the thoughtful restoration of this historic building, its tasteful furnishing, central location for exploring York, pretty garden , roof terrace offering panoramic views of the city, and private parking.

Cons: The noise at night can be a nuisance, but to be expected given the location.
