Great Comfortable Stay

Pros: Friendly and helpful staff member, cosy room, I appreciated the info sheets with the history of the venue, great use of space in the room to ensure all essential facilities were there. They kindly and specially provided a plug in heater as radiator wasn't working.

Cons: Only a couple of little tweaks and it would be perfect - I would have liked hand wash in the bathroom and the bin was full on arrival so I had to work to fit my rubbish in.

Pros: Lovely staff, spacious room, good location for our trip.

Cons: There were some areas in the room that could’ve done with cleaning (cobwebs etc).

I loved this pub in this marvellous part of Yorkshire can't wait to bring back my hubby.

Pros: As a solo female traveller the shepherds rest exceeded my expectations in all ways. It is in a prime location between Halifax and Sowerby Bridge both within a 5 min drive, 10 mins walk. Both places full of charm and history. The pub itself was delightfully nostalgic serving great real casked ales served from autovat pumps! Great friendly staff and beautifully kept spacious rooms with modern bathroom. The building itself is worth the visit all kept immaculate, pristine communal areas both pub and inn. Kept alive by devoted regulars it was certainly the hub of a great community. Can't wait to come back and spend more time there exploring this hidden gem.
