Nice weekend break

Pros: This beautiful old building was a delight to stay in. The staff couldn't do enough for you. The room, although small, was adequate for us and couldn't fault the cleanliness of the bed and bathroom. The extra touches for valentines and my birthday were appreciated. The breakfast was delicious with fresh produce and served hot. Would definitely recommend for a stay in the Yorkshire Countryside.

Cons: As some reviews have mentioned, some of the hotel looks a little tired, but, it is an old building and you can't expect the owners to constantly renew fixtures and fittings. We found it added to the character. Although the evening meal we booked as extra was tasty we thought it a bit on the pricey side, especially the valentines offering (which we didn't have) but appreciate that eating out isn't cheap nowadays. However, this would not affect us booking again and would recommend.

The staff were helpful across the Board. The chef, the restaurant staff and the bar staff were spot on.

Pros: I loved the ‘family’ but highly professional approach from all the staff. The team balanced a welcoming smile and ‘can do’ approach, but were clear that they wanted me to be satisfied and happy .

Cons: Nothing - I loved the location and the building ; I loved reading the history

Pros: Breakfast was very good - full English - only problem I didn't have time to eat it all

Cons: The driveway at night is not well lit. OK if you arrive by car - but not clear if you arrive on foot.

Pros: Pleasant friendly staff. Good value for money. Easy access to other places around Yorkshire. Lovely old traditional building. Room very clean and spacious Excellent breakfast.

Cons: The gardens and outside areas need some attention. First impressions count.

A very well placed location for our journey, with friendly local staff a bonus.

Pros: Nice room - one we usually get with a large bath with overhead shower. Breakfast is cooked to order and delivered to the table. We didn't have dinner as it was a bit late when we arrived.

Cons: Nothing.

Fabulous hotel, amazing staff and delicious breakfast.

Pros: The room was exceptional. It was immaculate and tastefully decorated, as well as being nice and bright. The bathroom was a great size and the shower was nice and powerful. The staff at this hotel are amazing. Every single one of them makes you feel like you're at home, they are polite and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The breakfast is on another level. Absolutely delicious.

Cons: There is nothing I didnt like.
