112 Micklegate - Apartment 1

Pros: The apartment is beautifully presented, complete with a Christmas tree, and very comfortable. We needed the sofa bed which was really easy to use. The location cannot be beaten, only a few minutes walk from the train station, city centre and bus stops.

Cons: The stairs up to the apartment are tricky with luggage and the shower room is tiny but functional.

Wonderful stay, 5 min. Walk from The shambles and plenty if places to eat locally. Lovely apartment

Pros: The property was gorgeous, listed building but with all mod cons. Very comfortable but heating needs looking at.

Cons: Heating system seemed to set at 21.5 and radiators didn’t get any hotter when turned up. With the windows being single glazed and not fitting too well it got quite cold in the evening. When we messaged them about this they brought over an extra heater and all was well . It was only the living area that was chilly , upstairs was fine .

An absolute Gem

Pros: The property is exactly like the pictures if not better. Loved the old creaky stairs & beams with the modern furnishings...best of both. The attention to detail with the furniture & decorating is wonderful. It feels very comfy & cosy. The bed is extremely comfortable due to a high quality mattress & bedding. My son enjoyed the sofa bed & said he slept very well. I appreciated the strong hot shower as thats a must for me. Communication & check in info couldn't have been easier. The housekeepers clearly do a great job as the whole place was immaculately clean & fresh. Perfect location as it was a 7 minute walk to the shambles/christmas markets/train station. Lovely little cafe directly below the accommodation so didn't have far to go for breakfast. All in all a wonderful stay in a lovely little gem on Mickelgate. We would love to come back & stay in the summer.

Cons: The only thing i can think of is the noise from people walking past on their way back from bars/restaurants at night but that is nothing to do with the property. You can't control other people's volume particularly if they are slightly merry. Again not a negative against the property & doesn't last all night just worth a mention.

Well located character property.

Pros: This is a beautiful property with so much character. We loved the beams, doors, windows and quirky staircase! The kitchen, whilst small, has everything you need. The shower room is lovely, although one of the smallest I’ve ever seen. There is an additional downstairs toilet which was useful. All the rugs, throws, cushions and decorative items make it very stylish. The sofa bed was comfortable for sleeping and sitting. Both the living room and bedroom were a very good size. Three of us stayed and it was spacious enough. The door between the living room and hall helped with privacy. It’s also well-located: an easy ten minute walk from the station, and five minutes into the town centre. Perfect!

Cons: The original staircase is gorgeous, but the stairs are quite high and it twists twice, so it might be difficult for anyone with mobility issues or older people, especially with luggage.

A unique apartment reflected by the price, but worth it for a special trip.

Pros: A perfect location, walkable to the city centre and close to cafes and shops. A beautiful, spacious and characterful apartment .

Cons: The apartment was cold and we requested additional mobile heaters which were provided by the host.

Historic stylish spacious central character accommodation (avoid if you are large or unsteady on your legs)

Pros: Everything - location, space,decor, attention to detail, facilities & near station. Above a lovely cafe.

Cons: If you are big or unsteady on your feet you might want to avoid. Steep, narrow winding stairs and a minuscule showeroom.
