First class stay

Pros: The owners Charles and Christine were really friendly and informative. The building itself is so beautiful and full of character. The breakfast was first class and tasted amazing. The fresh milk, homemade biscuits, complimentary fruit and chocolates were a really nice touch. Nothing was too much trouble.

Lovely stay in historic house.

Pros: Warm welcome, tea and cake in lounge from Charles and Christine on arrival. They provided everything you need for a comfortable stay. Location was perfect and free off street parking was a bonus. Delicious, plentiful breakfast. Lots of fresh fruit and local produce.

A LOVELY STAY AT PORCH HOUSE

Pros: It's a beautiful, historic house. The room was large, comfortable and well equipped. There were lots of thoughtful touches such as bath robes, slippers, fresh fruit, chocolates and delicious homemade biscuits. Breakfast was superb. High quality ingredients, generous portions and a great selection to choose from. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. Porch House is one of the best B&B's we've ever stayed in we're looking forward to our next visit.

Relive the days of proper guest accommodation

Pros: This is how guest accommodation used to be run - with the needs of the guest front and foremost. Everything is thought of, from fresh milk with the extensive tea/coffee tray, to delicious chocolates, fresh fruit, flowers, quality toiletries and bath robes. The bed was very comfortable, as were the pillows. The hosts are efficient and friendly, and the breakfast was superb - a great selection of offerings and expertly cooked. We will hope to return, and particularly so as Northallerton is a lovely town to explore.

Excellent accommodation and the the owners go the extra mile on all fronts to make you’re stay special

Pros: The property is of real character, and makes you feel like you’re staying somewhere special, with history.

Pros: On arrival, we were offered tea and cakes in the sitting room, which was a lovely experience, very homely. The location is perfect for visiting the town of Northallerton and the surrounding area. Breakfast was lovely.

Fantastic warm and welcoming stay in a great location

Pros: The hosts were lovely and very accommodating. The location was perfect for my work trip to the Friarage hospital and in great spot. The property itself was built in the 16th Century and had great charm. Superb full English breakfast.

Had a great stay, will definitely use The Porch again.
