Very highly recommended!

Pros: Everything about this place was great - believe the hype from the other reviews! Convenient stopping place close to the A1 which offers first class accommodation, super friendly staff, great comfort and delicious food. A real gem - thank you!

Great pub with good food lovely modern rooms close to A1

Pros: Convenient location off the A1. Very good evening meal and excellent breakfast. Our room was in a cottage a short walk from the main building - the room was modern and well equipped with a coffee maker, USB sockets and a large very comfortable four poster bed. Staff all friendly and helpful.

Pros: I have lived in hotels for the past 37 years, I’ve had some horrible experiences but I must say what a beautiful place to stay, every thing about this place is amazing, the rooms are so clean and well decorated, the food in the restaurant is incredible and the staff are so pleasant especially the main man , excellent excellent excellent

Pros: Really nicely decorated, real fire gave it a comforting feel. Lots of thoughtful extras including curly whirlies! Staff really helpful. Great food, very reasonably priced.

One of the most cosy, comfortable and friendliest staff, plus outstanding food.

Pros: We have been here for food several times and never been disappointed. This time we decided to stay over while visiting family in nearby Northallerton. The food is always top class tasty, cooked to perfection and plenty of it. We had the Sunday lunch which was delicious. Breakfast the following morning had plenty of choice from continental(cereals, pastries etc) juices and a variety of cooked breakfasts. The staff are so friendly and polite, it is always busy when we have come here and the staff work extremely hard but they all have smiles on their faces. The room we stayed in was Kauto Star, it was so very cosy with a very country feel to it, spacious, the bed was super comfortable, a cosy seating area with coffee table. Tea coffee facilities, plenty of drawers and a wardrobe with dressing gowns and extra towels and bedding. A large parking area to the rear. I would highly recommend staying here or even just calling in for food, both food and stay was exceptional.
