Homely stay but away from the centre of York

Pros: Very welcoming host. The house was well equipped with everything we needed and it could fit a big group (~10 people) comfortably, making it a great option for a group of friends travelling together. We spent a few cozy nights inside and just chatting away, so it felt very homely.

Cons: Despite keeping the heating on the whole time we were at home, most people in our group still felt cold (likely due to the building's age). The beds were okay but not the comfiest. Also, the house is a bit far from the centre (15 minutes walking) with little variety on how to get there or things to do on the way. It just became a chore to walk up and down that road so many times before we got to the interesting part of York as a tourist.

Pros: It was very big and very clean. It was warm on arrival too which made it welcoming in typically chilly rainy weather conditions!

Cons: The car parking space was really small would suggest that you take down some of the hedge and wall to the front of the house to allow car parking because it is really difficult to park in a very busy street.

Pros: Really helpful and very pleasant staff, great location and just a very comfortable place to stay

Pros: Lovely, clean house along a quiet road. Within easy walking distance of York. Hosts very accommodating as we arrived before check in but were able to leave luggage to go and look round York. Host in regular contact to ensure everything was ok. Would highly recommend for a family visit to York.

Pros: The setting in walking distance of the city centre, via river and road routes. Access to lovely parks for the children, a garden space, friendly hosts.

Cons: We made a couple of suggestions to hosts who welcomed them.

Excellent stay

Pros: Check in was quick,location was within easy reach of city. House was clean, warm tidy & provided all utensils & linen required. Main rail station is within walking distance but I used taxi the fair was £6.00.Parking only suitable for small vehicles but alternative can be provided a few minutes away at the check in point free of charge.All in all would highly recommend.

Cons: Small criticism a couple more bath towels would not go amiss think I missed out due to someone forgetting

Pros: Michal and Aggie were super accommodating, especially as I had made an error with the booking. They adapted and made us very welcome. The house is clean, the bedrooms are comfortable and it was a lovely space to spend New Years. We were 2 families of 4 with a dog we never felt we were squashed or getting in each other's way. There is a great dining space and having 2 bathrooms was really great. It was so lovely to visit York, and the town was in easy walking distance (10 mins to the city wall) so we were able to go everywhere on foot. Thank you so much for a lovely stay and for being so welcoming and accommodating.

Pros: Great location as walking distance to city centre! Big spacious rooms and 2 bathrooms which was great for 2 families. Had all appliances you need however as mentioned in other reviews the pans definetly need changing for cooking!

Cons: Lack of parking although was able to park at owners pub car park when a space was available but if busy there isn’t nearby parking as it’s for residents.
