A nice place to stay.

Pros: Lovely big room. Very comfortable bed. Nice bathroom. The breakfast was great next door.

Cons: A bit unclear when the pub was actually open.

The break on the Heriott Way Walk

Pros: The location was good within easy reach of the Heriott Way walk, which we were completing. Breakfast was in the next building, continental and cooked breakfast They make packed lunches when pre ordered, which is good when walking.

Great place to stay. Would return

Pros: Busy pub in centre of village. Lovely spacious room. Clean warm cosy and food available in the bar in the evenings

Cons: Power sockets could be better placed.

A lovely stop on our road trip. Relaxing and peaceful stay.

Pros: We were so pleasantly surprised with our room and this place! A beautiful, cosy space to relax in after our drive. Turns out the 2 stars it had were due to poor management under previous owners. Th breakfast the next morning was also lovely, and we had a good chat with th. new owner and staff, who were very friendly.

Cons: Nothing to complain about.

Friendly place with a great location and very reasonable rates for that part of the world.

Pros: We had breakfast in the Board Inn's sister hotel next door, the Cockett Hotel. Our booking only said we had continental but we actually had full English available. Ben cooks a superb full English! Also breakfast started at 7:30am so we could get out for the days' activities fairly early.

Cons: A small amount of maintenance was needed for our room (room 4). The door was reluctant to give the key back, the bathroom door was a challenge to open if it was fully closed and the shower drained quite slowly. none of these were big issues but all could probably be sorted fairly easily.

Still happy to return

Pros: Lovely staff, bed was really comfortable, tea/coffee facilities was good. Warm and cosy

Nice stay.

Pros: Central location, friendly staff. Excellent breakfast.

Cons: Sounds from adjacent rooms. We had a door to an adjacent room and the sound traveled through quite easily but the guests in the next room were not noisy.

Pennine Way walkers

Pros: The room was very big, the bed comfy and the duvet warm. The young man in charge was very accommodating and professional. As a budget hotel would recommend.

Cons: The rooms all shared the same bathroom/toilet, Another bathroom would have been a bonus.also no loo paper (luckily brought our own) 🤔 Not really a negative but did have the Karaoke folk saying tara to each other for 20 mins after pub shut😂

Really pleasant and good value - would very much recommend.

Pros: Really pretty, charming bedroom - perhaps slightly dated but in a good way (Room 5). Felt snug and relaxing. Excellent cooked breakfast with fabulous coffee. Great location.

Cons: Pity about the stained stair-carpet, which gives a false impression. Water glass in room? Better quality orange juice? But these are just quibbles.

Wonderful stay!

Pros: Everything! The hosts were lovely and friendly, and the room was spot on - clean and comfortable. The bathroom was spotless, the location was excellent, and nothing was too much trouble for anyone. We would definitely recommend it to others. We hope to return in the future too.

Cons: Absolutely nothing to say here - it was perfect!
