Kings Head by Chef & Brewer Collection

Overlooking the Market Square in the small town of Masham, this charming inn is set within a fine Georgian building of tremendous character, built in the second half of the 18th century. A quintessential English town, Masham lies peacefully on the River Ure on the outskirts of Ripon. It houses quaint almshouses and holds traditional markets twice a week. Established in Saxon times, its beautiful church was mentioned in the Domesday Book. Kings Head Hotel by Chef and Brewer Collection has been carefully renovated to combine traditional Georgian splendour with modern day comforts. To truly relax, during the winter you can take advantage of the real wood and coal fires, whilst in the summer the terrace is the perfect place for a refreshing drink.

Great stay at the Kings Head

Pros: Great rooms in the courtyard especially when you have a dog. Dogs are allowed in the bar area at all times, including at breakfast time. Staff are lovely, very friendly and helpful. Love this place - we’ve been a few times and we will come back.

Cons: Nothing!

Pros: Great location, dog friendly room, welcoming staff.

Cons: The only thing we disliked was that our room was very , very hot - we had to put the fan on and it's February! Everything else was great.

Always an amazing stay

Pros: The food was really good quality and good sized meals. The staff were all very helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

Cons: The only thing that I could say negatively is at every meal there was things on the menu they did not have.

Pros: The hotel is located in a lovely village. The accommodation in the annex was great, everything we needed. Big thanks to the staff, who were all so friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was excellent.

Cons: Only downside was there was a lot of dust in the room. A good vacuum would solve the problem.

Perfect - a hidden gem and our new favourite bolt hole for a night or weekend away.

Pros: The room was just fantastic. Very luxurious. We usually expect a pet friendly room to be slightly basic but this was large, immaculate and sumptuous. Food and ambiance in the dog friendly bar was perfect. We will be back!
