Friendly, comfortable and delicious

Pros: Everything, location was excellent for walking and travelling. Loved the room (Stag) bed was so comfy and huge bathroom. Food and drink were great value for money and high quality produce. The staff morning and night were so lovely and friendly. It was a fantastic stay.

Excellent as aleays

Pros: Love this place. Visited several times and will visit again. Food exceptional, staff exceptional. Comfortable friendly hotel it’s one of our favourite places in a beautiful area. Special thank you to Freddie who is a one off and to Lionel the owner for his excellent food and the effort made by him and all his staff for an excellent evening.

Excellent dog friendly pub and accommodation

Pros: The Clarendon was very welcoming for with dogs. Lovely room. Very comfortable bed. Breakfast excellent. Shona was so lovely. She made sure wr we had everything. She is an asset to the Clarendon. Will definitely recommend. Evening meal was lovely.

Good value pub in lovely location with excellent food.

Pros: Breakfast and dinner both very good, menu specialised in game and when we arrived the pub was full of staff from a neighbouring shoot who were enjoying themselves immensely, staff helpful and friendly, location very attractive and good for walking dog.

Cons: The room had been modernised but in a slightly generic boutique hotel style way that was a bit uncomfortable, the bathroom was so small it was difficult to turn round in. The staff, however were all lovely and the food was very good.

Lovely overnight stay on our way to Scotland.

Friendly pub would certainly return

Pros: Located near to many walks so did not need to use the car . Near to a fantastic Tea Rooms . Our room was quiet despite being over a pub. Lovely food . Staff , particularly Shona and the blonde waitress in the evenings were wonderful - very helpful . The bed was comfy .

Cons: Just a slight comment that the ceiling in the bathroom was a bit stained ? Damp .

Cons: we requested to single beds on our booking which didn't get done until we pointed out the mistake
