The Retreat at Dukes Townhouse

Lovely stay!

Pros: We had a wonderful stay at the Retreat. The welcome gift was a lovely extra! It's in the perfect location, only a few minutes walk to the town centre, but just far away to not be too busy. Lovely quiet street full of charm. We had a wonderful stay, the bed was very comfortable, the bath was amazing and we will definitely be looking at dates to return.

Pros: First time ever choosing to stay in an air b&b instead of hotel and it was the best decision we could’ve made. The retreat at dukestownhouse was absolutely amazing. Everything about it was lovely☺️ It is the comfiest bed me and my partner have ever slept in, we were sad to leave because of that hahaha! If you are travelling to York, I would 100% recommend you stay here!!!

Nice stay

Pros: Really nice place. Homely with everything you need. Nice welcome pack and a great location!

Cons: It was really difficult to get the place warm. Took a long time. However, this might have just been due to the recent storm.

Lovely again, we’ll continue to use Stays York for future visits!

Pros: Another perfect stay with Stays! We loved the bath opening onto the living room, so luxurious. The entire apartment was beautiful (as expected) and the bed was super comfy. A gorgeous experience for our wedding anniversary! A quick walk into the centre of York and very close to the car park that we used on Marygate. You’ve got top spot as places to stay from us!

Cons: The only thing I’d say is the noise from occupants moving up the stairs above our apartment although this couldn’t be helped and wasn’t actually too bad. It did not hinder sleep or relaxation and wasn’t enough to put us off using this property again!

Pros: We loved our stay at the retreat and would love to go back soon. Very classy and cosy in a fabulous location right near the centre

Cons: It was a bit noisy with the apartment above

A wonderfully luxurious and comfortable place to stay.

Pros: The welcome hamper was a wonderful and a glady received surprise! The apartment felt luxurious and was beautifully clean. It was lovely having such clear instructions for anything we needed to know, both sent prior to arrival and contained in a handy folder in the apartment. We also appreciated the very easy controlled thermostat and the extra blankets, which we made great use of this chilly weekend!

Cons: The small niggle was that the shower door in no way protected the floor from the water, so each time we had a shower, the whole floor around it was soaking. Luckily, because of the great heating and lovely radiators, we could dry off the shower mat throughout the day ready for the next use.

Pros: High finish throughout and literally a short walk into York city centre. Super clear instructions for access too and a great little hamper bag with goodies was perfect

Lovely apartment in a lovely city, absolutely perfect for a couple’s weekend away

Pros: Absolutely superb location in a beautiful road and very handy for both the station and walking into the centre. Lovely gift bag provided and incredibly comfortable place to stay.

Cons: Only a very very minor negative with shower screen not preventing quite a bit of water escaping onto bathroom floor, then a bit of an operation to get bath mat dry again with small towel rail.

Pros: Everything that we needed was there, The Town House was exceptionally clean and comfortable; there was even a dishwasher available which we didn't need to use. The Town house smelt delicious. There was even an outside sitting area. There was a fantastic welcome bag for us containing prosecco, crisps, nuts, coffee tea and biscuits. the chocolate was most welcome! The parking space close by was a real bonus.

Cons: We loved everything about it!
