The Old Hotel - The Hole in the Wall

Pros: Very quiet. Spar store 5 mins walk. Bus stop into centre 2 mins walk. Walk to Minster 25 mins. Pub close by. Instructions to get into apt clear. Apt on the small side but fine for a solo traveller on a short stay.

Cons: The stairs up to the bed are steep and narrow, but I survived 😅

Smart and well-equipped apartment in good location

Pros: Very smart and clean. Well equipped kitchen. Good location. Welcoming for our dog!

Perfect for what we needed!

Pros: Lovely, cozy and homely place for a short trip. Location is great and would have loved to have stayed even longer here!

Cons: It is, obviously, on the smaller side. This wasn’t a problem for us as a couple, but some might find it difficult using the stairs up to the bed.

Pros: Great location and lovely property. Facilities were perfect for what we needed and perfect location with a short walk to the centre. Would stay again.

Cons: The stairs to the bed room were very steep (fully aware of this when booking) however the banister was very unstable also the partition on the bedroom didn’t seem overly safe. Bedroom was very warm however fans were provided.

Excellent and comfy 1 bed apartment with everything provided

Pros: Fantastic kitchenette it had plates, cups, cutlery everything you would need. Very clean and bed/pillows very comfortable. Smart tv was great and large given the smaller room. Key was easy to access and quick. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would pick this over hotels/b&b any day and would definitely book again.

Cons: Internet did go off for a day HOWEVER hosts were contactable anytime via phone/whatsapp and had it fixed the next day and were very lovely about the whole issue. There was also a period where the electricity went off BUT hosts warned me about this via email beforehand which I was thankful for. Apart from this minor occurrences there is nothing I didn’t like about this apartment :)

Exactly what we wanted and suited our style of getaway.

Pros: It was so cosy and clean, really suited the sort of trip away we wanted. The facilities were really good and worked amazingly.

Cons: The size was good but smaller than expected, only issue was a few head bangs every now and again but worth it due to the positives about the room.

Perfect time away lovely place

Pros: We liked the style of the property and how cosy and secluded it felt!

Cons: The railing on the stairs closest to the window was a little loose when we leant on it going down! But everything was perfect other than that and it really wasn’t much of a downside!

Perfect loft for an out-and-about trip

Pros: Charming loft that befits its ‘hole in the wall’ name, with a nice kitchenette and modern fixtures. Pleasant walk to the city centre, and a Spar for any self-catering just steps away

Cons: It’s quite small with hit-or-miss WiFi, and so it wouldn’t be a good choice for remote work or travellers who prefer to spend large parts of the day in their rental

Very comfy stay.

Pros: The location is a short 15mins from the town centre, which I liked. Easy entrance with the keys in a lock box, very clean, well designed, bed is super comfy.

Cons: I found the wifi kept dropping out so it made it difficult to stream a movie on my ipad. I had little cell reception to hotspot. Just to note that checkout is a 1 hour before what it says on booking.com. 10am checkout which I think is very early for a hotel.
