Pros: Best selection of fresh fruit at breakfast! Great room, evening meal, and lovely dog walk across road, along River Ure.

Pros: Fantastic - large room, excellent shower, great evening meal, fires in lounges, friendly staff, the best fruit selection ever for breakfast + cheeses, granola, cereals, yoghurt and a cooked selection. Lovely dog walk down beside church along footpath next to the River Ure.

Pros: Excellent breakfast. Well positioned for York, Ripon in a peaceful village close to the A1, but not too near to be intrusive.

We Left feeling replete and well rested

Pros: This is a real gem! We had a wonderful overnight stay. Arrived tired and weary after a long,rainy journey from Scotland and loved everything about the Crown Inn. A warm welcome; a super room; delicious dinner in a cosy bar with a roaring fire ..what more could we ask for? After a good night's sleep in a beautiful bed, we had a really delicious breakfast, then hit the road feeling replete and well rested. Thankyou

Best place we have stayed for the whole year - and more.

Pros: Where to begin? The Crown is simply the best place I have stayed in years. Gorgeous accommodation, superb food, helpful and friendly staff. I knew the pub when it was just a pub in the 1970s and early 80s, when relatives owned it and it was known for fine dining. The menu now far exceeds anything I ate back then, with an excellent choice from game and fish to vegan meals. Next time we stay, I'll be hoping to eat in the restaurant more often - we only managed one evening this time. I need a gluten free diet and there was no problem catering for me at all, rather different from the very limited choices that is typical of many menus. The room we had was beautifully modernised and tastefully decorated in a traditional country style, with a sense of the inn's history. The bathroom was just what we love - with a waterfall shower. My OH appreciated the Curly Wurlys on the refreshment tray! Booking again for next year. Need I say more?

Cons: This is a tough one. I really can't think of anything. Perhaps the bed was too comfortable so I didn't want to get up? Nope, can't think of anything. Sorry!

Pros: Lovely roomy ensuite bedroom. Spotlessly clean, food was absolutely delicious and the staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. Will definitely be going back. It' is a gem!

Pros: This was our second visit to this property. The location is perfect for a nice relaxing refreshing break . The room was wonderfully decorated and furnished. The staff as always are very friendly and accommodating.

Cons: The room was a bit cold with only 1 radiator heating the large room and the mattress was a bit hard
