The George Carvery & Hotel

Excellent base for exploring North Yorkshire.

Pros: Breakfast was not available but there were a number of good outlets locally for breakfast, We had the carvery one night and it was extremely good.

Cons: Nothing to dislike.

Good value

Pros: This is a lovely hotel and the rooms are very nicely furnished and comfortable and clean. I think my stay would have been totally different on a day that the restaurant was open.

Cons: The road is very noisy and the restaurant is only open Thursday to Sunday inclusive.

Pros: Great place to rest my sore legs and feet after running nearly 60 miles in 2 days from Durham for a charity challenge. Perfect location for me (half way between Northallerton and Leeds) Fab carvery. Friendly, helpful staff

Cons: No breakfast available, but at least I knew that in advance, so was able to pack a pot of porridge that I could make & eat in my room before setting off on the next leg of my challenge

Pros: All staff were extremely friendly and very interactive, plenty of tea and coffee facilities and the bed was super comfortable, finally the food was incredible!!

Friendly, comfortable, hassle free accommodation that does a great carvery and has ample parking.

Pros: Warm, friendly welcome, lovely location, great food, comfortable, clean accommodation. I'd visited previously 2 years ago and was extremely pleased with our stay, so it was no-brainer that we'd return here whilst visiting Harrogate and the Harrogate Showground. It's only a short 9 mile drive so not badly located for me. And once again we were not disappointed, thank you to the staff for making this another enjoyable stay.

Cons: It did not affect my stay in anyway, but if you are one of those people that a breakfast is essential for, The George does not offer this service. However the staff are knowledgeable of their locale and will point you in the direction of a place that does, just a stones throw up the road.

Great overnight stop with food, drink & a bed for the night

Pros: Nice, clean & comfortable overnight accommodation which was what we were looking for on our long journey back from the North East. The evening carvery downstairs in the pub was superb.

Pros: Friendly attentive staff. Great food . Very comfy bed.
