Knightly Knaresborough
Pros: The location of The Mitre was excellent: just a few steps away from Knaresborough train station and a 8 minutes walk into the town centre. The accommodation is a pub which seems to have been modernised recently in light colours. The food served is excellent (Bao & Brew). York Brew craft beers are sold both on tap and in cans. Our room faced the platform but the noise of the trains did not disturb us. The kettle and tea bags in the room were useful and much needed kn one of the coldest days this month! There were radiators in the room and bathroom. The shower was nice with shower gel and hand wash.
Cons: Nothing really. But bear in mind that there is no room cleaning or bath towel and/ milk replenishment: you'll need to catch someone at the bar to ask. Checking in is also done at the bar. Checking out: you just leave your key in the lock.

Pros: The room feels so calm How lovely and quiet it was, even though it's right next to the railway station .. how wonderful the shower was, spicy hot water...so relaxing I'll definitely stay again.
Cons: Very minor points Found out this morning there was no milk on my tea station ☹️ Re: housekeeping, the hair dryer was clogged with dust on the back, I sorted it tho. My hairbrush is a multi tool.😊 (Just vac it out) Mattress protector slightly stained Blinds need attention

Cons: The bar was closed ( 8pm Christmas Eve) and we asked for a drink but couldn’t get one which was disappointing

Great location and a comfortable stay
Pros: The room facilities were very good. Nice big room and bathroom, all very clean and well equipped. The location is perfect if you are heading to the train station or the waterside. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The pub itself is very welcoming and a great place to start or end an evening out.
Cons: Not really things I didn't like, but things you need to be aware of. This is very much a pub with rooms, so it comes with the sights and sounds of a pub. There are no 'hotel' facilities. There's no 24 hour reception or any staff around when the pub is closed. The hotel doesn't serve breakfast. Like most of Knaresborough you can't go far without hitting a steep hill. The hotel is half way between the town and the waterside, so if you go anywhere, you're going up or down a hill.

Great rooms at a great price.
Pros: Clean and modern and at a great price. Handy for the station and for the town. Rooms are spacious, well-equipped and en-suite. Room was very clean but there was a towel left hanging behind the door, presumably from the previous guest. Its very close to the railway station so some train noise. Didn’t bother me and my son who’s train made was delighted. No food for breakfast or evening meal but the booking site is clear about that upfront. Lots of places to eat in town a few minutes walk away - steepish hill so not suitably for some people
Cons: Couldn’t fault it. We spent ine night but could happily have used it as a base to explore and stayed longer.

Very pleasant stay in a lovely spa town.
Pros: Very clean and comfortable. Friendly staff. Great beer selection! Good recommendation by the staff for dinner (Six Poor Folk, just 4 minute walk) as the property was not serving food on our one night stay.
Cons: Watch out! It’s a steep climb up in to the village from the property. We got parked outside but that might be a struggle in busier times.
