A most perfect stay

Pros: I stayed in one of the top rooms and it's an Aladdin's cave, you go round corners through doors & upstairs, on reaching the room it was larger than I thought it would be and perfect. The bed was comfortable, Tea & coffee supplied on the side table, the shower & toilet was lovely & warm. Everything was spotless, actually even the curtains were perfect. For breakfast you have a continental breakfast but I opted for beans on toast which I had to pay for and it was thick delicious bread with plenty of beans!! The Hotel is situated 5 minutes from the railway station and it's just across the road from the Micklegate Bar and of course then you're into the old town. A most perfect spot.

Pros: All good, breakfast adequate to good, not 'award winning' but still good...no toast ( I could have asked...)

Choir weekend

Pros: Interesting place to stay. Staff very friendly and helpful. Very convenient to access the city centre. Clean and comfortable rooms. Used the self catering kitchen/lounge- very nice to have this as we were a group and could meet there for a drink at end of the day

Cons: Nothing comes to mind

Excellent accommodation in the heart of York

Pros: I stayed here whilst in York for a social event. I found the staff were really friendly and approachable. The building is beautiful, full of history, and I took the opportunity to visit the exhibition and the chapel. Check-in and -out was simple and quick. The room was comfortable, with individual AC units, TV, tea & coffee making facilities, etc, and it was spacious. The bed was really comfortable. Overall, I had a fantastic stay and I WOULD stay again.

Cons: I have nothing to say - there's nothing I didn't like about The Bar Convent Guesthouse.

Gem of a find!

Pros: Beautiful building.. definitely something different! The staff were amazing and the cooked breakfast (made to order) was one of the best I've had on holidays.. I would definitely stay again! Location was perfect (5 min walk from the train station) and access to the walls within a minutes walk which can have you anywhere in the city in a very short time. 5*
