A really pleasent stay from start to finish. An enjoyable experience.

Pros: The staff were fantastic. Danielle was attentive and welcoming in the extreme. The rooms were comfy and sizable, the breakfast was good and had plenty of choice!

Cons: The shower was a little complicated and we found it difficult to operate. However, it wasnt a big enough issue to ask about.

Relaxing break

Pros: Everything about The Apple House is brilliant. The rooms are so comfortable. The breakfast is excellent. Also the parking is a bonus

3rd Visit And We Love It Every Time

Pros: We love the Apple House, Daniell and Tarquin are such amazing hosts, we've never stayed in the same room twice and every room is excellent, clean and comfortable and kept nice and warm which was necessary for the time of year we visited this time. The B&B is 20 mins walk out of York which is a nice distance from the noise of the city centre but is still within walking distance for a nice day in York. We had a room at the back of the house which gives you a view of the train station which is preferable to a view of the road in my opinion as it is slightly quieter although they do a good job of minimising noise pollution. A full english breakfast is offered in the mornings and we love the way you are assigned a table based on your room number, a continental breakfast is also available and kept well stocked throughout the morning.

Cons: There is literally only 1 thing I can think of that I would have liked to be added and that is the availability of vegetarian sausages for breakfast. My partner is vegetarian and his breakfast was a little lacklustre in comparison to mine. Even just something like halloumi would've been enough to make it feel like a fuller meal.

A cute B&B

Pros: A lovely guest house, close to the train station and an easy walk into the city. The room was cosy, all necessary amenities. A lovely selection of fresh food for breakfast

Cons: The bathroom was lovely but so cold compared to the room. I think it was purely because it had lots of external walls so couldn't retain the heat even though the radiator was on full. The coffee at breakfast way not good.

Pros: Staff were really friendly. Good parking and excellent location for the city.

The perfect place to stay. Highly receommended

Pros: Car parking was great for us it was what we wanted. Our room was on the ground floor near reception cosy with exactly what we needed. Breakfast was freshly cooked promptly served as substantial as we wanted. Perfect location for a nice walk into York or near a bus stop if we wanted. Great selection of places to eat. The Crystal Palace pub nearby offered a good selection of drinks a warm fire and peace and quiet with pleasant friendly staff.

Cons: There was nothing we didn’t like. Our short stay was perfect. There was nothing more we needed. Friendly people good food comfortable surroundings.

Pros: Friendly staff , very good choices for breakfast. Bus stop for york centre right outside the property.

Cons: As the owners were away during our stay we had great difficulty getting into the property after a late night at the theatre.

Comfortable and convenient

Pros: The room was comfortable and well-appointed, although the decor was a little tired. The location is great, an easy walk to York station (although the short cut currently goes through a building site, so don't wear your best shoes) and only about 15 minutes to the centre of town. The breakfast was fresh and well-organised.

Cons: The room that I stayed in at least could use an update - the carpet was frayed in places and there was for some reason one old and one new curtain, which really highlighted how faded and well-used the old one is.
