Holmwood House features a comfortable sitting room with an open fire. Breakfast is their speciality, with a wide selection including Craster kippers. Another fabulous stay away in York - we will be back! 😁

Pros: Lovely old building full of character. Plenty of space in our room - good storage- including a set of drawers . Powerful shower over a big spa bath fabulous. Didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment. A good walk into the centre which didn’t bother us, good parking . Would definitely recommend

Cons: Only a niggle because we managed but there was a lack of power points. There was a double socket under our four poster bed but was very difficult to access. A multi lead would have done the job

My stay at Holmwood House

Pros: Size of the room with separate bathroom. Lovely bedding. Location. Shower pressure is fab.

Cons: Room 2, ground floor You can hear noise from next door You canhear people walking above in whatever room that was and so woke early. Towels are a little dated, soft but fraying Wallpaper coming off wall in bathroom Dirty door edges Tv could be one size bigger Parking should be free This all sounds terrible but it is not that bad. Had someone been at reception when i checked out, then i would have mentioned these things. Its constructive criticism which i hope is taking on board as some are quick fixes.

Pros: Great location. Clean. Spa bath was great after a long day of walking. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Staff are really friendly and helpful.

Cons: No double glazing so you can hear the cars on the main road
