Stay at Leeman Rose

Pros: The staff were lovely & responsive to requests. The location was good. It was a short bus ride to the centre of York. The heating worked & there were basics provided like tea and coffee & a hairdryer. If you like a firm mattress, this is a great place to stay. You were provided with a key to the street door & were separate to the bar patrons. This made us feel safe. Parking was on the street but was available & we left it there, safely, for a couple of days. Good value for money.

Cons: The bathroom is very small. If you like to go to bed before 11pm, this is a hard place to stay because you get the noise of the pub downstairs. Sunday night was worse than Monday.

Quaint. Quiet. Comfortable.

Pros: A quaint village stay. Authentic. Peaceful. Comfortable. The hosts of our stay were friendly and helpful in meeting all our family needs. Close to Chinese Restaurant - Yummy Ho, which was very eagerly consumed in the private dining room of The Leeman Rose. 🌹

The Leeman Rose review

Pros: The proximity to York City centre. The staff were polite, friendly, helpful and professional.

Cons: The coupling holding the shower head broke on first use, however staff temporarily fixed this almost immediately and there were no more issues. The complimentary coffee was out of date by 3 months

Pros: Location was good. Nice walk along the river into the city. Very friendly, welcoming staff. Very good breakfast. Suited us fine for a one night stay with my teenage grandsons

good base for a trip to york

Pros: Its a pub and the staff were very welcoming and friendly.The rooms were clean and adequate for a base to enjoy our time at york .There was also the cafe and the grillman on a evening and me and daughters enjoyed the pizzas,but if wanted could have had chinese from across the road .
